Cleaning Boat

Boat Lift Repairs

The north lift (channel side) strap has an auto sensor issue.  If the operator holds the button all the way "up" to the sensor, then it is auto correcting and being stuck in the "down" position. To prevent this issue, simply stop the strap before the sensor at the top of the cable.  In order to allow both lifts to remain open, we ask all operators to follow these instructions - otherwise, we will be forced to close the north lift altogether and only leave the south side open.  We appreciate everyone's help and cooperation in the meantime while the parts have been ordered!

Aerator Repairs

The board recently approved the replacement of some of the aerators within the lake systems.  This will take time (the initial installation took over a year!) so please be patient.  Phase one includes the aerators by the boat lift which have been down since the hurricane and phase two are the aerators in the Bayport canals.  It is also important to note that although you may have an inoperable aerator near you, when the aerators were originally installed, they added more than are actually required.  By maintaining them in due course, in phases, we are still well within the advised amounts per our nationally recognized lake management company.

It is important to note that the Sunset Lake aerators were recently hit by a propeller in the shallow portion of the lake (the Northeast corner) which caused significant, and completely avoidable damage. We ask all boaters remain vigilant and monitor your depth throughout our waterways to avoid unnecessary and costly repairs such as this.

West Gate & Pickleball Court Gate Repairs

Due to an unusually strong lightning strike on the west gates, the fobs and gate readers are currently down.  The volunteers and teams have already repaired the electrical  and internet issues, but are now waiting on the parts to repair the other electronics which were fried.  These parts have been ordered and we hope to have the gates operational in a few weeks.

This impacted the fob readers at the boat lift and the pickleball courts, but unfortunately, only the boat lift fob is operational at this time.  The pickleball court is expected to be fixed in conjunction to the west gate towers.

Tennis court wind breaks are going to be replaced shortly after the last few strong storms damaged the old wind break fabrics.

Additionally, the Basketball courts have been severely damaged by e-bikes and dirt bikes recently.  The board voted to add the repairs to the upcoming budget for next year along with a comprehensive repairs to repaint and texture the tennis courts.
